MySpace a place for friends

Piemont is a project initiated by the Hamburg based producers Frederic Möring-Sack and Christian de Jonquieres, whose numerous releases and remixes under their alias Phunklarique & Dejonka have already gained a huge fan base over the past few years. The initial output for their early releases has been the own record labels Skjöldmusic and Suchtreflex, which they have been managing successfully since late 2005. Under Piemont they create music suitable for peak time as well as after hours and listening comfort.

The long awaited debut EP ("Ice Instinct") by Piemont was released by "Hi Freaks" - the very own imprint of producer/dj-team "Goldfish & der Dulz" - in January 2007 and gained support from many top jocks, including Thomas Schumacher and Oliver Huntemann. Moreover "Ice Instinct" was featured on the momentous DJ Mag cover CD. The acclaimed german label "Gedankensport" released their second EP named "Nightshift", including a fabulous remix by Berlins minimal superiors MyMy.

Their following single entitled "Carbonat" appeared on the cologne based label My best friend (MBF) in april, and can be considered as their breakthrough. Beeing charted and droped by top class Djs such as Carl Cox, Deep Dish, Oliver Koletzki, Monika Kruse, Umek and King Roc, Carbonat quikly gained great public interest and entered the German Club Charts (DCC) at position 13 in may 2007! Up to now Carbonat has been licensed to two Ministry of Sound compilations. The follow-up-EP named "Sympathetic" meanwhile arrived on MBF in September 2007, which immediately reached position 11 of the DCC.

Ever since several EPs followed: "Quantum Leap" (Hi Freaks), "Bastille" (MBF) and their forth MBF-release named "Black Smoker" in Summer 2008.

Piemont's new 12" "central mouth" is in the pipeline for release in October 2008 and gives a good foretaste of their upcoming album on MBF which will be released 19th January 2009. Beside their wide studio activities Piemont have been busy playing their live set at venues all over the place. Moreover they continued to build up their own label "Suchtreflex", which is intended to be a creative platform for their own and friends productions.
